Analytics Metrics to ROCK the Events Industry

As you may have seen in previous posts, I'm co-starting a project in the Events Industry, and our online presence aims to be really strategic and focused in gaining awareness and leads, so we have to take care of our content and tell our story in a significant way that leads the prospect to our call to action: Ask for more info so we can call them.

Conversions (people leaving their data for interest in being contacted,) aren’t the only important metric for this business, here I list the 3 most important ones that’ve I’ve discovered so far from Google analytics: note that this business has a long sales cycle and is really consultative, so our blog or website should be able to gain visitors from different sites, retain prospects enough and make them come again if they are comparing us with our competitors

Sessions & Page Views
We are interested in knowing the number of people visiting us, and how many pages they view, when and where are they bouncing, etc.

Lead Source: Where does the interested people come from? Are we driving a good organic and/or Social Media Strategy?

Behaviour: What is more important for our visitors, or what catches their eye? This metric is super interesting to see the visitor flow and make copy changes after studying it.

If you think of any other metric that could be interesting for a company that aims to perform Events both in a personal (B2C) and at a company level (B2B)? I would love your feedback.

  1. Hiya, I was thinking you could also look at the demographics! So people that are more local to you, as they will probably be more likely to use your services than someone in Japan :)
Then you can see whether you need to tailor your SEO and fb ads to people that are more local to you.
Interested to see how your business develops!
