Our 5S's Goal
The 5S of digital marketing are a simple framework created by Dave Chaffey to review and define the top-level goals of digital marketing in an organization [1].
Applying them to your strategy, is vital, but also a really complex process, as it makes you decide from the start your future actions, as well as knowing your resources and planning ahead.
If I follow the perspective from my current business (events industry in Spain), My own 5S’s approach would be the following:
· Serve – Add value: We will pursue the 5 reviews for this year as we’re planning 5 events for now, although we’ll put a lot of attention into feedback and our goal will be 100% recommendation rate.
· Speak – Get closer to customers: Our mission is going to create a unique experience both in the event and during the organization, we want our followers to be creatively involved. For this reason, we’re pursuing the 100+ reposts/shares within the first 6 months of activity.
· Save – Save costs: Going 95% online is our mission, although we will create some merchandising in the future, we aren’t going to spend more than 2000€ in marketing + extras this year.
· Sizzle – Extend the brand online: We’re aiming to get 2.000 followers on Instagram (B2C) and 1000 on LinkedIn (B2B) both from organic and paid campaigns, we’re going to focus on an inbound strategy, where our blog is going to be one of the central pieces. We’d like to reach 10.000 views to our multiple entries thanks to the previous mentioned channels.
